For everyone that wishes to enjoy a wide range of Community Events, Skagway has it all. Throughout the year our small community (population 1036 in 2014 census estimate) puts on a host of events with the help of many Skagway volunteers!

Training: Sharing Skagway’s Stories
June 8 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
What: Training Opportunity at Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park
Contact: Jason Verhaeghe, Interpretation Program Manager, (907) 983-9234
When: Friday, June 8, 7:00-8:00pm
Join Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park for a free training on true and exciting stories to share with guests. Park rangers will team up with guides, drivers, and others who share history with the public in an information sharing session on June 8.
In this training, park staff will briefly share verified Skagway stories, and then open the floor for questions. Bring your curiosity and questions as we work together to myth-bust rumors and bring Skagway’s true and gripping stories to life.
Because many questions will need to be researched and cited before they’re answered, park staff will email the bulk of answers to participants after the training. Future sessions may be provided upon request.
After this training, you will be able to:
• Share entertaining and educational facts and stories with visitors to Skagway
• Understand key events in the history of the Klondike Gold Rush
• Incorporate information into your tours that’s verified by the National Park Service
Date and Time
Friday, June 8, 7:00-8:00pm
