Skagway was the first incorporated city in Alaska having been overrun with stampeders in the great Gold Rush of 1898. Since becoming a city on June 28, 1900, Skagway has been the gateway to the Yukon. Skagway has one of only three roads inland in Southeast Alaska (the others are Haines and Hyder).  Our goal is to make as much information available to residents, businesses and visitors.
