For everyone that wishes to enjoy a wide range of Community Events, Skagway has it all. Throughout the year our small community (population 1036 in 2014 census estimate) puts on a host of events with the help of many Skagway volunteers!

NPS 100th Birthday!
Enjoy free birthday cake outside our Visitor Center on 2nd and Broadway in Skagway at 11am. Explore the beautifully restored and recently opened Jeff Smith's Parlor Museum for free from 9am-12pm and 1pm-5pm.

Eowyn Ivey presentation
Alaska writer Eowyn Ivey will be presenting a talk about he new book "To the Bright Edge of the World" at the Klondike Park auditorium. Free admission. Eowyn will be signing books at the News Depot prior to the event from 2-4 p.m.

Heritage Presentations
Tagish Denke elders are coming to share their stories and heritage with the residents of Skagway! Join us Friday, April 27, from 10:00-1:00 in the National Park Service theater on Broadway & 2nd in Skagway. Ask questions, get new perspectives, and learn the history of Skookum Jim. Chilkoot Trail Artist Residency Kristin Link from Glennallen, Alaska, has been working as an artist in Alaska since she received a graduate certificate in Science Illustration from California State University Monterey Bay in 2010. Her ambition is to create images that explain and inspire people about their natural surroundings. In this talk, she'll discuss what it's like to be a science illustrator and how the backcountry influences art.

Solstice Sky
